Why Vaayu?

One of the major issues affecting the world today is extreme heat temperatures. Research, across countries, indicates that more than 1 billion people are adversely impacted by heatwaves. These heatwaves have their most devastating effects taking place in urban cities and other suburban areas where a very large number of people have very little, if any, access to reliable transportation.

This crisis has many harmful effects on driver-partners in the public transport sector, particularly the auto-rickshaw operators. These drivers are required to spend long hours on the road, sometimes 8-12 hours, and as such are consistently exposed to temperatures that often can reach more than 40 degree celcius on a daily basis. Being exposed to heat for long periods has negative, very harmful and often fatal effects such as heat stress, dehydration, fatigue, and lowered earnings.

Here is where Vaayu comes in. The establishment of Vaayu was aimed at overcoming the challenges associated with bringing together environmental sustainability and economic viability. There is an urgent need for affordable, zero-emission coolers with the help of using passive engineering to meet the requirements of the various low-income areas in the world. Vaayu provides simple products that offer efficient thermal comfort while remaining eco-friendly and not increasing fuel consumption.
